Experienced Water Polisher

Job description:

We are a well-established, family-run manufacturer / fabricator company in Burnaby (near Brentwood Mall) known for the excellence of our workmanship and installations, looking for a full-time “Experienced Water Polisher” for long-term commitment. The Water Polisher is responsible for polishing, finishing, and refining stone surfaces using water-fed polishing equipment to achieve a high-quality, smooth finish. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely with machinery and hand tools.

The hours are Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm. Must be reliable and responsible.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate water-fed polishing machines and hand tools to polish stone surfaces (granite, quartz, marble, porcelain, etc.)
• Inspect surfaces for defects and ensure high-quality finishing standards
• Perform edge profiling, smoothing, and surface refinement
• Maintain consistent water flow during polishing to prevent overheating and surface damage
• Conduct quality checks before final approval
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Follow workplace health and safety guidelines
• Assist with material handling and movement of stone slabs when required
• Perform routine maintenance on polishing equipment

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous experience in stone polishing, fabrication, or a related field preferred
• Ability to operate polishing machinery safely and effectively
• Strong attention to detail and quality control
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
• Basic understanding of stone materials and finishing techniques
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Required:

• Must wear steel toed boots
• Respirators
• A valid Driver’s License
• Must be a Canadian resident
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required

Experience:

At least 2 years of experience is necessary; must be physically capable and willing to handle very heavy lifting.
